Guests at the Tropical Manaus Business may choose from a number of enjoyable regional attractions.

One of the most famous popular festivities of Northern Brazil is the "Boi Bumbá Folkloric Festival". Taking place annually at the end of June in the town of Parintins, this celebration is 100 km away from Manaus by river.

The hotel grounds of the Tropical Manaus are host to a traditional June festival, called the "Saga do Boi". This feast is held around the "Victoria Regia Swimming Pool" and is a popular calendar event for the city of Manaus.

Amazonas Theater or Opera House - 25Km
This remarkable landmark was erected in the midst of the Amazon jungle in 1896 at the peak of the rubber boom. The tour shows off the lobby of marble and inlaid tropical hardwoods, the fine concert hall, and the romantic mural in the upstairs ballroom. The Amazon Theatre, built with the wealth of the rubber barons, was fifteen years in the making.

All materials were imported from Europe, including ironware, structures, fittings, statues, marbles, lamps, mirrors, and crystals. Only the wood used in the floor and chairs was Brazilian, from Bahia. The Amazon Theatre was inaugurated on December, 31, 1896

Encontro das águas - "Meeting of the Waters" – 25 Km
This natural spectacle occurs where the muddy waters of Solimões River meet with the black waters of Negro River, running side by side for 4 to 6 kilometers without mixing, due to water differences of temperature, density, and speed.  The two rivers carry on for miles, with progressively less distinct whorls and eddies marking the interface between these two rivers. It's a classic Manaus day trip, and a great excuse to get out on the Amazon.

A popular spot in the dry season, this river breach on the shore of the Rio Negro is in a nightlife and entertainment area.

Anavilhanas –100 km
Near the Township of Novo Airão, on the Rio Negro, discover Anavilhanas, the world's largest archipelago of fluvial islands. Native forest covers 400 islands, forming a real natural labyrinth. During the dry season, the receding waters reveal several white sand beaches and interesting natural formations of roots and trunks

CIGS Zoo - 12 Km
Open to the public, this is a Military zoo for rescued animals and is managed by the Brazilian Army. About 300 species of animals from Amazon's fauna, including monkeys, wildcats, otters, snakes, alligators, macaws, tapir, and turtles call this zoo home.

Adolpho Ducke Botanical Garden – 42 Km
The world's largest botanical garden inside a 100 km² ecological reserve is home to an amazing number of plant and animal species

Natural Science Museum
(Museu de Ciências Naturais da Amazônia) –32 Km
n/n Estrada Belém, Colônia Cachoeira Grande. Few locals visit this museum, know about it, or would even want to, considering that it's basically critters they'd find (almost) in their backyard. For visitors, though, it's a chance to see a live pirarucu and other fauna (mostly preserved) of the region.

The museum was constructed single-handedly by a Japanese entomologist, specializing in butterflies, with his own money and resources. It's out of the way and about half an hour by taxi. The nearby INPA is a preserve and research center with birds and other wildlife.

President Figueiredo Waterfalls – 107 Km
The city of Presidente Figueiredo is on the edge of Highway BR-174, which joins the Amazon to the Caribbean and North America. The journey offers fascinating Amazon Forest bird watching. Flora, fauna and fantastic nature with many waterfalls abound at Presidente Figueiredo. Visit the Ecological Reserves of Iracema cave waterfalls, and Sanctuary, situated at Km 12 of Balbina Hydroelectric Road. Incredibly beautiful, both are founded on sand-rocks, displaying the wonder and beauty of nature.
